I must comment on my own title - there is no trail. I know, the title strongly implies that there is, but there isn't. There isn't a Fireman's Creek either, but I'll get to that, too.
On Oak Street just north of Front Street in the booming Northern Michigan metropolis of Traverse City is a sign marking Fireman's Creek Trail:

It sort of looks like there's a trail. Technically, does that make it a trail. No. The answer is no.
If you follow the path the two dozen steps back, you will reach Kid's Creek as it bends southward on its final stretch towards the Boardman River (not Boardman - Ottaway, just Boardman). Once you reach the creek, well, you've reached the creek.

If you choose to walk by the creek, you are free to do so. Across is Traverse City Fire Station 1, thus the name Fireman's Creek. But it's not Fireman's Creek, it's Kids Creek, though I can appreciate the temporary name change honoring the men that bravely save lives. My stepfather was a volunteer firefighter, and it takes a certain kind of awesomeness to charge into a burning building.
If you have no idea where I'm talking about, you can go to the X on the map below and enjoy your 30-second walk on the "trail". But it's better than a parking lot or another pot shop, so yay for the trail!
