If you read that title word as "topless", I'm sorry, this is a completely different blog post than you thought it would be.
When I became a Leelanau County resident in January 2021, the Leelanau Trail became my trail of choice. And on my longer summer rides, I would pass the hop field where the trail crosses E Birch Point Road. Or, I should say, the former hop field. For the four years I have lived here, no hops were grown. I had hopes that the hops would return, and especially lately as I have started to brew my own beer.
Alas, it was not to be. As I rode by on a lunchtime ride, I noticed the poles and cables for growing the bines were being removed:

By the way, a vine uses tendrils and suckers to cling to surfaces as it grows. A bine depends on wrapping itself around something. You're welcome.
Here is the original satellite view of the field.

Perhaps we will soon see a field of a different sort of crop. If I may put in a recommendation, anything but zucchini. A bacon tree would be perfect.
