Identity Brewing is closing in on its final beer served. The brewery will close September 25th, 2026 and will become Happy Cat, a member of Honest Hospitality TC, the same group that runs Mama Lu's, The Flying Noodle and The Burrow.
But this post is about the Identity Brewing. I rolled up on my bike because driving in Traverse City, even in September, can be a dicey thing. But look at that the appeal of the brewery, right on Union Street. And you can't spell Identity without an "eye'. Well, you get my meaning. And not the creepy, evil all-seeing eye of Mordor. (Lord of the Rings reference, you're welcome.) This is a kinder, gentler eye, and the arm attached to the eye wants to give you a beer.

And an interior shot to remember it by. The next time I step into the building, it will be a different decor. Probably a cat or two on the walls. I'm a cat person, so that is OK by me.
