Traverse City Construction Updates

A few pictures of construction projects going on in downtown Traverse City. First is the new farmers market pavilion in Parking Lot B at the corner of Grandview and Cass. The parking area will be closed for quite a while, so find some other piece of pavement to park. The current farmers market is at Rotary Square. For some reason, the people in the picture on the link provided are wearing masks outside.

And poor old J & S Hamburg on Front Street is no more. The site now awaits the erection of a condo building.

And because you're so nice, here is a picture of street work outside of the bar formerly known (since the 1800s) as Union Street Station:

The building is still (as of August 2026) for lease, so if you're dream has to own a bar in Traverse City, now is your chance.

Oh, what the heck! I like you people so much that here is a bonus construction photo. This is at Station Street and Railroad Avenue, a corner you may have never driven down. But you're probably familiar with The Filling Station, and that is the building in the back. The Ticker reportsthat another apartment complex is going in that empty space. I'm not sure if that is what is happening now, or if it's just a staging area for construction elsewhere. When I hear, you'll be, like, the 785th person to know.
