Well, That Didn't Take Long

Since moving to Traverse City in 2020, several of the spaces in the West End Beach parking lot have been closed due to erosion damage due to high water levels. You remember when people worried about high water levels on the bay? That was before they worried about low water levels. But that was after the worries about high levels. It's almost like they panic whenever the water isn't the perfect level they think is it should be.

But finally, the TC commissions voted to approve repairs. Yes, after only five years plus change, they decided everyone could get the parking lot at a popular beach fixed. And here it is!

Look at that brand new blacktop! Beautiful. It's smaller than it used to be - commissioners are smarter than us and they wanted fewer spots, so fewer spots we get - but at least it's open again.

You will notice that the TART is much wider than it used to be, part of the Grandview / M-22 / roundabout construction which has caused painful traffic congestion for the past two years. I'm looking forward to riding the trail next year after the construction near my house is done and summer traffic returns to its normal bad-ness instead of the awful-ness that it is now.
